Abeltshauser can really skate for his size, has solid offensive skills, will jump up into the rush and has a hard, accurate shot from the point. The big German-born blueliner has size; puck moving abilities and can lead the teams’ power play but can also play the shutdown role and the penalty killing unit. The big defenseman has the all-round game to play at the professional level and has significantly improved his defensive play. He will need to shoot more from the point and bring more physicality to his defensive game at the professional level.


Future

Abeltshauser will most likely start his professional career at the AHL level with Worcester for the upcoming season and has a possible upside of a top-four defenseman at the NHL level.
