Talent Analysis
Noebels is a big-bodied winger who plays a conscientious, two-way game. Questions about his skating stride and willingness to play in North America may have contributed to him not being selected in the 2010 draft but he quelled those concerns with his play in the WHL in 2010-11. He isn't overly creative offensively but is effective on the attack utilizing his heavy shot and then driving to the net - both tendencies that should fit in well with the Flyers’ style of play.
Future
Noebels signed an entry level contract with the Flyers in July 2011. Following the Flyers camp, he will either return to Seattle for a second season in the WHL or play in the German professional league on loan to the Krefeld Pinguine. While his size and strength are already ideal for a power forward, and he is a willing defender and back checker, he will need to continue to develop his overall game to be able to compete at the NHL level. It appears the Flyers got a high-value pick in the fourth round and should he continue on his current developmental path Noebels has the potential to be an effective scoring power forward in the NHL.
