Still assimilating to the North American game but has the attributes to make it work. Big body with good strength. He uses his body well along the boards and shields defenders away when he has the puck, partly because he doesn’t have breakaway speed. Has good offensive instincts, a quality wrist shot – though he spends a fair amount of time looking for that extra pass – and above average vision. Traditionally skilled Czech in the Jagr mold, smooth hands, good shot, iffy skater, iffy defensive conscience. Has the offensive attributes, however raw. Needs to improve his skating as a whole, hockey sense, defensive play, consistency.
