Morrow possesses all off the traits the Penguins look for in defensemen, he is a strong skater, good at moving the puck, and not afraid to engage physically.
Talent Analysis
An aggressive defenseman with offensive skills, Morrow’s size and mobility has combined to elevate his stock, particularly with a strong second half of the past season and a deep playoff run. Great test results at the NHL combine. Possesses a very heavy shot. Models his play after WHL alum Brent Seabrook.
Future
Morrow will compete for a spot with the Penguins in camp but is likely headed back to Portland for one more season of junior hockey. He was one of 17 defensemen chosen to participate in Canada's U-20 developmental camp in December and could earn a roster spot for the 2012 World Junior Championships in Edmonton. Long-term, Morrow figures to be an impact defensive defensemen that is also capable of contributing on the offensive end.
