Talent Analysis

An offensive wizard when the puck is on his stick, Huberdeau is blessed with great hands and the creativity to make things happen on the ice. Equally apt at finding an open player and making a pass as he is with sliding through defensive coverage and scoring a goal himself, he is a dynamic talent with an excellent work ethic. As with most 18-year-old players, Huberdeau still needs to add muscle, which will only help him be more effective battling for the puck.



Future

Despite the desire to have a top-three draft pick with Huberdeau’s skill and electricity in the lineup, the Panthers have stated that they do not want to rush their prospects. Unless he has a terrific performance at training camp, Huberdeau will be returned to the CHL this fall to have another year to polish his game and build his strength. There is little doubt, however, the he will be in the Panthers lineup for 2012-13.
